I've never had a "nice" flashlight. I've owned some maglights in the past, but that was before LEDs were being used. I saw this coleman light on display at a local sporting goods store, along with the rest of the CPX products, and I was amazed by how bright, and white, the light was. I was pondering some of the other lights for sale on Amazon, most boasting much more power (some twice as much) for the same price or less. However, I was intrigued with the CPX's ability to use a nice rechargeable battery that could be swapped with other coleman products, and its apparent quality construction. I made the purchase.
I couldn't be happier with it. It is a fairly small light, not much bigger than a normal sized hand. It is also very light due to it being constructed of aluminum, and I love the flat black look of it. It is easy to turn on and off with one hand. 7 hours of battery life seems like a lot for such a bright light, though I have not yet tested it. I live along a golf course, so I take walks in the evenings and shine the light on distant trees. And WOW does that light shine far, and stays white.
Construction is great. The battery cover opens and closes securely, no rattling whatsoever. The switch seems great, plenty of resistance but easily switched on/off with on hand. It seems very durable, mostly of aluminum and thick plastic. I imagine this light will last me a very long time. I'm so pleased with this flashlight, I plan to shortly purchase the CPX rechargeable battery and lantern.
