I took a chance with this knife, not being able to find much info. I'm not a knife geek or collector, but I've owned dozens of $10-$20 knives, a couple of mid range auto openers and a really expensive Spyderco that I lost. I liked a friends Kershaw Leek with the assisted opening and it's sharpness. With this knife I am equally impressed. It is a really great size for my taste with the 3 1/2 inch blade and about 8 inch total length. It was a touch smaller than I thought it would be and glad I didn't buy the RJ II. I really like the feel of the handles. The cut outs keep it from being slick or slippery feeling. The blade was very sharp out of the box. It opens very easily and nicely with the flipper on the spine. The thumb studs are pretty useless in my opinion because they are too small, to close to the handle and I really have to dig my thumb into it to open it. Blade locks shut securely and no wobble. I love the gun metal gray color of the blade, looks real nice to me. Very low profile clipped in the pocket but part of the knife will be visible if you reverse the clip.
Cons: The pocket clip was very, very tight. So tight it felt like it would rip my uniform pants. Bent it out a bit and it and it's fine.
For the money, it is an outstanding knife for me. China is stamped on the blade and I don't know where it was actually made. Seller shipped pretty quick with no complaints. I also purchased a Kershaw Tremor, which I reviewed and with both of these Kershaws I am very impressed and happy with their products. I am a total fan now. I don't know why this knife is not a more prominent item for Kershaw or on Amazon because I don't think you could buy anything better for the same price, maybe twice the price. I'll take 5 or 6 of these any day over my buddy's $170 Benchmade. Hope this helps.
