It was between this and the Buck CSAR-T avid, and the price on this knife made it the winner. I've owned several Gerber products, so I already trusted that I'd be happy with this, and was not dissapointed. This is a very beefy knife- there is a good reason for the lack of a pocket clip- it's just not that kind of knife. Fully opened, you'd almost swear this was a fixed blade, it locks up so tight- quite a departure from previous folders I've owned. The rubbery grips are extremely comfortable, and the finger grooves make the thing nearly slip-proof. It's a very plain looking knife, which suits my personal taste, but it's plainly obvious that a lot of thought went into the design of this knife. This is a perfect knife for work, outdoors, or really, anthing you'd need a knife for. The sheath had me a little skeptical at first- the belt loop doesn't appear to be particularly heavy duty, but no problems so far, so I guess we'll wait and see. Either way, though, I can't say enough good things about this knife- it's money well spent!
